According to experts, the new law that Germany has passed in regards to online gambling is not only illegal but it contravenes both the German constitution and European law – and they aren’t going to stand for it. Lawyers across the European nations are crying foul and demanding litigation against the country.

Carsten Frein, the head of MyLotto24 said that the state treaty on online gambling was illegal and that they were planning on taking legal action. Experts say that litigation will become prevalent against the country if they do not rectify the situation and many of the paypal casinos are going to see what happens over the next few months before going after them.

The 16 German states stand behind the New Year’s Day accord that they passed which bans online gambling and introduces the idea of internet freedom-sensitive rules. Other online gambling operators say that the rules are unjust and should be repealed, and are very critical of not only the passing of the online gambling rules but also the way it was handled.

The European Union and the German Monopolies Commission have very strong stances on the issue, and many of the online gambling companies are waiting to see how they play their cards. Frein said that even though this would not affect the UK portion of their business but it does affect how they do business in Germany.

They are going to wait it out for awhile to see what happens, but they don’t know how they can move forward with their marketing in Germany if the law is not repealed.

Even those that just Google online gambling may not be safe from the wrath of our president any longer and they may want to protect themselves accordingly. According to the Wall Street Journal, President Bush is trying to pass a cyber-security initiative that would allow him to spy on anyone participating in online gambling.

The initiative would kick back information to our government regarding the surfing habits of internet users and if you participate in online gambling, or if you simply search for it (even without participating) your name would go into a database and you could be investigated. The Google gives information to online gamblers, even those just seeking information regarding what is going on with it, and Bush wants to know who is doing what with it when.

The budget that he is currently trying to pass has the initiative on it, and he wants to spend $6 billion to monitor Americans and protect them. However, the public is already upset with the idea of it, and many in Congress say that they will not support such a bill. They say that spying on Americans is unwarranted even in the name of National Security.

Various privacy groups are outraged at the thought of this new program, as they say that this is simply one more way for the government to keep a stranglehold on the American people and their right to participate in online gambling. They say that the next thing you know, microchips will be everywhere with the government listening to everything you do and say and determining if you are harmful to yourself and others by what you do and what you say.

They say that it violates the privacy of every American citizen and that if the initiative is passed, it won’t stop here. They are concerned with how far the President is willing to go to subdue the public and keep them under his thumb.
